“I don’t know what to do with all the things you make me feel, where to put it, sometimes.”
She traced the muscled and scarred forearm that rested on her stomach, linking their fingers together.
“Give it to me.”

She rolled her eyes, but he grabbed her hips and pulled them flush to his.
“I love that I’m the only one who can tell you what to do.”
She bit her lip, looking up at him, his inky hair and strong features. In this lighting he looked dark and dangerous.
“Only sometimes.”
He smirked. “Mmm. Sometimes.”

Summary
Sometimes she felt high when they were like this.
She had never surrendered control, ever in her life. He never trusted himself to take it. But that’s what made the dynamic so intoxicating. She had never felt safer with anyone else, never loved and trusted someone like she did him.
And for Percy, nothing made him feel more alive than being the source of her pleasure. When he had been a marionnet all his life, a martyr for the fate of the world, it was overwhelmingly cathartic to feel powerful in a different way.
Not in the way that could defeat Gods or flood cities, but in the way that he could soften her with just a touch, a whispered sentence. Outside of this room, who people thought they were didn’t matter. They could give each other something that they could never find anywhere else.

Summary
Annabeth was no stranger to bad days.
They came less often now, her new life in New Rome offering a sense of peace she had never known before. Still, the years of fear and heartache had permeated her soul, like an ink stain on a white page — Stygian tendrils that winded their way around her heart.
She had made a promise to herself months ago that she would do the best she could to try and lighten that stain, whatever it took. Her friends, the California sun, and her classes had done a lot to take her mind off the bad memories. Percy continued to be her rock, and their relationship had given her a look into the future she had always wanted, something permanent, something that felt like home.
Still, she had bad days. Days where that inkblot bled into the corners of her vision and weighed down her limbs. Sometimes all it took was a spilled cup of coffee to spur her anger, other days her thoughts were cacophonous, a strangled symphony of doubt and self-hatred.
The only thing that cleared the darkness on those days was the warmth of Percy’s company.

Summary
Annabeth Chase returns to Camp Half-Blood expecting a quiet summer of teaching, training campers, and trying not to think too hard about the life she left behind in California.
She does not expect Percy Jackson to be waiting for her across the hall.
After nine months apart, the two agree to try being friends again—just like before they ever fell in love. But between late-night conversations, old memories, and a promise Percy never forgot, Annabeth starts to realize some things are impossible to leave in the past.
Especially Percy Jackson.

Summary
“I’ve looked everywhere for her. She’s missing.”
“Everywhere?”
“Everywhere. I’ve been looking for her all day. We need to do something.”
Do what?, Percy asks himself as he says it out loud. What are you supposed to do when a person just disappears? Put in a report with the police? It's unlikely they’ll do anything about it. If Annabeth is missing, it probably has something to do with the gods.
“Someone took her,” he says to no one in particular. The realization sinks his heart all the way down to his feet.

Summary
Silena still looked confused, but Charles had said, “Oh bloody hell, it's Percy Jackson, isn't it?”
“Oh!” was all Silena said, blinking. “Oh he's… not so bad, right? I mean, it was between him and Jason.”
Clarisse and Charles, oddly enough, tensed. Annabeth saw the loaded glance they exchanged, and deciding to have none of that, she demanded, “Okay, spit it out. You guys are dying to say something.”
“It's just,” Charles started, looking massively uncomfortable under the attention. “I don't know if he should be Head Boy.”
“Huh,” Will said, and Annabeth wanted to echo the sentiment. Will had one eyebrow raised when he guessed, “Did something happen over summer?”
Charles nodded gravely. “I mean, granted, we've always known Jackson to be quite the formidable guy, and you guys know how there's always exaggerated rumours going about him, but… About three weeks ago, he… or I guess, we, uh–”
As Charles faltered in his words, Clarisse picked up for him. “We saw him. We saw how dangerous Jackson was first hand.”
The room fell into stunned silence.
Frowning, Annabeth said, “Explain. What are you talking about?”
