Summary
Zuko had taken her to a restaurant that didn’t have prices on the menu and ordered wine with a label she couldn’t pronounce. She’d mentioned that she wasn’t legal quite yet, but he’d poured her a glass anyway. It’d gone down smoothly.
Afterward, he’d dragged her to some hole-in-the-wall for ice cream, and she’d spilled hers across his shirt. They’d meant to get her back to her apartment by midnight—but then they’d stumbled by a drive-by movie playing in some lot outside the school, pulled down the windows and sat and watched the 1969 rendition of Love Amongst the Dragons draped in blankets Zuko kept in the trunk. When the credits dropped, Zuko had leaned in to kiss her.
