He turned his face to hers and asked, “You okay?”. She stifled her instincts and tried to bat the defensive response back down; this was how they worked. The whole group kept an eye on one another, really, but the two of them were… different, she guessed. Where the others would just raise an eyebrow or offer a pat on the back and some hours of silent comfort, the two of them would actually try to talk. She had found him at his worst, after all, and he had certainly seen the ugliest of her sins whilst they were both trapped in the Void rooms. It seemed like every time her darkness closed in on her, he was right around the corner to offer a shoulder or a hand, and she did her best to do the same for him.
A sigh. Then, “No. Yes. Kind of. Just hoping the night air would help clear my head.”
