Max takes the gift from her, finding it to be barely wrapped in newspaper. Whatever it is, it flops in her hand. She pulls apart the first layer of paper, finding that the obituary section was used. Real celebratory… am I not even worth the cartoons? There’s a note.
Hey Max,
Look what I found in my friend’s room. Look familiar?
LucasMax takes a step back when she unwraps the gift, finding a scarily familiar looking doll looking back at her. It’s uncanny: curly red hair, brown eyebrows, and dotted freckles on its cheeks. It’s wearing her outfit from yesterday: black cargo pants, a black and white striped shirt, and a yellow rain coat. It has buttons for eyes, but even those are accurate to her, a shade of blue she sees every time she looks in a mirror.
“A little me? That’s weird.” Max breathes out, gaping down at the doll. It doesn’t make sense… His note implied that he found it in a friend’s room, but he’s the only one she talked to yesterday, so how would anyone else know what she looks like?

He thinks of the way girls flock to Will, asking him out to Quidditch games and Hogsmeade, only getting more determined every time he gently turns them down. He does not need a love potion going missing or he’ll never sleep again out of fear for his best friend. What does Will smell in the potion? Mike leans forward, getting hit with another wave of it, old books and grass and florals and…
Merlin, what’s that smell?
It bothers him for the rest of the lesson. He doesn’t pay attention to the next potions brought out, or when she warns them about the potion they’ll be making next lesson, asking them to study up on it. It’s only when Will nudges him that he realizes the lesson is over, and he scrambles to shove his book and empty notepad into his bag and follow him. He’d planned to ask Will to hang out during their free period, but he’s too distracted, stopping in his tracks when he hears him rambling excitedly to Lucas and Max in front of him.

Will nods, standing up and staring out of his window again. For a second, nothing happens, but just as he’s about to shut his curtains, there’s movement from across the street. The blinds of the upstairs window get yanked, but there’s no one standing there – not that he can see, at least.

Summary
“Sorry!” He shouts over the noise, smiling while Will bluescreens. He’s gorgeous, all big brown eyes and a strong nose and his dark hair curling around his ears, messy and just begging to have fingers run through it. Will feels his fingers itching with the need to draw and paint him over and over again until it sticks, the way he’s never felt when RISD would bring in models for them to paint to practice their details. Will had always been bored when they had those lessons, but now he wishes the school had hired this guy: he would’ve gotten the best grade. “Um, this is yours, right?”
“Yeah! Yeah, sorry.” Will drops his second pen onto his sketchbook, grabbing the other one from him and mentally wincing at the thought of how dirty it must be. Gross. “You here for the band?”
Amusement lights up the guy's eyes. “Yeah, you could say that.” He smirks, looking around for the bartender. She’s helping a group on the other side so it’ll be a minute before he’s noticed. “Are you here for the band?”

Summary
Regulus turns to his boyfriend, and hears his breath catch.
He loves Barty, in all shapes and sizes–upset, impatient, annoying at 3 in the morning–but there’s something about the way Barty looks when he’s causing trouble that does it for him, and the worst thing is that Barty absolutely knows it. It’s the way his eyes light up, the dangerous smirk that lights up his face, the way he oozes confidence.
There’s a tattoo gun in his hands.
Regulus swallows, trying to control his thoughts, but a second later he’s grabbing Barty’s forearms and leaning up into a biting kiss. “Do you really want me raising your grandson?” He asks, needing to know. He can’t imagine that she feels that way, not when it’s his fault that the war carried on for so long. It’s his fault that she lost almost her entire family.
She studies him for a long minute, Harry forcing himself to meet her eyes despite wanting to flinch away. He’s not sure what she finds in his expression, but it seems to clear something up for her. He has the sudden worry that she could be a legilimens–he’s so tired of people invading his privacy by reading his mind, but she disproves that thought before it can fully form.
“I don’t know you well enough to tell.” She says, her voice even. Harry can respect her honesty, sinking back into the couch. After so long spent camping the softness of it is foreign to him. “However, it is not my opinion that matters most in this situation. My daughter and son-in-law are Teddy’s parents, and they chose you for a reason. We must honor that.”
