Summary
“Good boy,” Mark teases, voice light, affectionate in an offhand way, like he didn’t even think twice about saying it.
Jeno goes still.
It’s not weird. It shouldn’t be weird. It’s just Mark messing around, but for some reason, Jeno’s breath hitches, a slow warmth creeping up his spine, settling at the base of his neck where Mark’s fingers were just a second ago.

Summary
Just as she’s about to head over to stop what will certainly end in a hospital trip, Mark starts to reach up to the shelf to try to grip the bowl from the bottom. Now, Jeno’s on a mission, but she’s also just a girl: she can’t help the way her gaze drags to her girlfriend’s exposed tummy.
But, instead of landing on her usual favorite spots–Mark’s soft abs or their sparse happy trail–Jeno’s eyes lock on something lower.

Summary
“You got it, Mark!” A voice calls from the dugout where the managers have been cleaning up from practice. A voice connected to the downfall of Mark’s glory this season.
Jeno Lee was a new addition to their team this season after their second manager had left the university last fall. He had sparkly eyes, big hands, and a list of encouraging compliments to spill out at any given time. He was inadvertently pushing Mark’s baseball career into quicksand.

Summary
The first time Mark sees Jeno, he’s holding a cup of iced Americano and looking dangerously good in a button-up that fits too well. The sleeves are rolled just enough to show forearms that have no business being that defined, and the top button is undone.
Oh, and he’s wearing glasses. Thin-rimmed, golden, perched perfectly on the bridge of his nose. The kind that Mark personally thinks shouldn't be allowed in a corporate building because they’re doing more damage than good.
He immediately makes a mental note: Do not get distracted.
So, he walks into orientation with the best poker face he can manage, pretending not to notice the guy at all.
That would’ve been the end of it.
Except five minutes later, he’s sitting two chairs away from that exact stranger in the HR onboarding room. The universe clearly has jokes.
Someone at the front, wearing a too-bright smile, clears his throat and says, “You’ll both be working under Strategy. But there’s only one open full-time position, so... bring your A-game.”
Mark almost laughs. Of course.
Except, two months later, both of them are still here.
Somehow—against the odds, against the numbers—they both got hired.
