Summary
Some years ago, an ancient plaque detailing the existence of a “false record” was uncovered within the Temple of Silence, but the person who discovered it defected and disappeared. This ancient plaque remained forgotten until an expedition surfaced in the desert searching for the ancient machine described by the stolen artifact. With the recent events around the plague of forbidden knowledge in their minds, Alhaitham, Cyno, Sethos, and Dehya decide to set out into the desert to stop the expedition from finding the machine and possibly unleashing forbidden knowledge back into Sumeru.
In the meantime, the lonely Vahumana student known as Wanderer is out in the far reaches of the desert to escape the scrutiny of his peers and to contemplate his future now that he had recovered his overwritten memories. While in the desert, Wanderer stumbles across a strange machine that immediately clings to him and refuses to let go. Wanderer decides that he must get rid of this machine at all costs, but as it turns out, this is only the beginning of his misfortune...
