"This is commander L/N, first officer of the starship USS Rover, if anyone is out there we are in need of assistance . . ." the audio crackles and coughing can be heard in the background, "We've lost control of the engines, please if anyone is out there -" more crackling "- I think we're all going to die out here." and then the audio cuts out.
The Enterprise comes across a distress call from a ship long since presumed MIA, expecting to find an abandoned ship they're surprised to find the entire crew is still alive and hasn't aged a day since their disappearance . . . over a century ago.
