So I've been away for three years, that's crazy considering I uploaded like once a month every month for a couple of years. Plenty has happened in between my last fic and now. I got with my partner and we're celebrating our third anniversary in July <3 and I'm also three years clean from self harm which is super wild but yay me

This is a series I've been meaning to write for a while. I'm very fascinated with emotions and I thought that I'd explore them more using a character that, for most of his existence, has never had to worry much about emotions. Of course, that changes as his character becomes more fleshed out and gets to experience the ups and downs of humanity! This is purely self-indulgent

Summary
Wilson simply frowned, putting things together quicker than House would have liked. He opened his mouth to speak, then said nothing. His outstretched hand found its way onto House’s right arm, lightly clutching the skin.
House watched, his eyes trained on the man’s watch of all things, since it felt like forever since he had actually paid attention to what time it was. The clock told him it was 6pm; hardly late, yet hardly early either. It made him come to a realisation, at the very least.
Wilson - the man who was now moving his hand off of his arm and grimacing as the blood stringed between his fingers - was still currently on call. He was supposed to be at work, but he was here. He was here, helping him.
God… he really was stupid.

While the patient’s life is on the line, Wilson finds his concern drifting towards his friend and his current detoxing whilst out of work. After enough radio silence, he finally decides to go and see what he can do to set things right.

Karlach smiles at him as the sun begins to set, her eyes softening around the corners, a nervous look flickering over her features. And Astarion is already expecting what comes next, but it still feels like shards of ice blooming behind his ribs.
“Do you think I can sleep in your tent tonight? Now that I can’t hurt you or set the damn thing on fire.” She asks with a breathy chuckle, an uncharacteristic anxiety making her shift on her feet, her bottom lip caught under her teeth. He has no disillusions on what her words could mean. She’s not likely looking to do much sleeping when she is free to touch him now.
(Or, Karlach can freely touch the people she loves now. Astarion makes a few wrong assumptions.)

Summary
Astarion fast-talks an abnormal number of enemies into killing themselves in the shadow-cursed lands and the team makes idle (then less idle) conversation about it. It’s completely fine and doesn’t bother him at all and it absolutely doesn’t draw additional questions about why he does what he does for the team... and what they in turn would do for him.
IE: Origin-run Astarion fic because its interesting to me how the party reacts to their vampire buddy if he doesn’t have Tav to be a social buffer for him. Act 2 content and spoilers.
