“Isn’t it past your bedtime Slim?”
It was a half-hearted jab, but Logan needed him away, needed to leave in silence, needed to convince himself he wouldn’t be missed. Scott sighed softly, followed by the clink of a bottle on stone.
“What are you doing Logan?” The Wolverine snapped his eyes on him at the tone, laced with pity and care. Scott’s face, half in shadow, reflected the same emotions, his ruby lenses burning through Logan.
“Why do you care?” He spat, more venomous this time, hackles raised. The younger squeezed his eyes shut behind his glasses, ducking his head in exasperation.
“Logan.” He sounded exhausted.

Summary
Life as Marie knows it is about to change drastically. One mistake will push her closer to the edge than ever before. That is, until she meets the piece of her she has been missing. Or so she thinks. Because, just like her, he too has been broken time and time again. Can she fix him? Can he fix her? Or, will they simply make each other worse.
This fic is an in-progress re-write of the movie X-Men (2000) in which Rogue and Wolverine end up together. I chose to expand and omit some events in the movie, enjoy!
All characters and situations are pure fiction and are not based on any real events or people. Additionally, I don't own any of these charactors, their names, or descriptions, nor the several scenes, and dialogue that are drawn from the movie, X-Men (2000).
