Summary
“Hi,” he said, a wide smile breaking out of his lips because…because this was Eddie and he was here.
“Hey Steve,” Eddie replied, smiling too, in a way that made everything inside Steve feel like he was gonna float away.
And then that smile widened and he pulled Steve close and Steve just…he sighed and melted into Eddie’s strong arms. They hugged a tick too long for it to just be a hello sort of hug, but if anybody noticed, they didn’t say anything. Steve only reluctantly pulled back, because, to be honest, Eddie’s arms were just his favorite place to be and he didn’t get to be there often.
“How’ve you been?” Eddie asked softly, still all of his attention on Steve, sort of ignoring everyone else and it made Steve feel so special and good about himself and god, he loved this man. Everything about him.
Or: It’s Christmas 1994, everyone spends the days after Christmas at the Byers Hopper farm. And…for the first time ever…timing is right.
