“‘Demons are real?’
That answered whether or not the boy knew he was a newly awakened demon or not. He waved a hand at the bed, a silent question, and the boy hesitated for a moment before he nodded. Shen Qingqiu sat on the edge of the bed, closing his fan.
“What is your name?” he asked, all of his attention on the teenager.
The latter lifted his hands to offer a weak salute, “This one is called Wei Ying, courtesy Wuxian.”

After a fateful day in the Endless Abyss, Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe hear screams calling for help that lead them to a portal. They go through and are shocked to find a wounded young demon on the other side and bring him back with them.
They had no idea how attached they would get to Wei Wuxian in the short time he was with them, or the events that would follow that would lead to their reunion.
AKA Bingqiu save Wei Wuxian from the Burial Mounds and accidentally adopt him

Summary
Shen Qingqui does not cope well with his guilt and grief after pushing his beloved disciple into the Endless Abyss... and in this world of cultivation, his bottling things up and refusing to allow himself to feel his pain have only destabilized his golden core. Shen Qingqui who has always had delicate meridians and a tendency towards qi deviations, finally collapses under the pressure.
Luo Binghe, who was not dead nor gone forever, still goes to Jinlan City. Shen Qingqui is not there. This changes some things.

Fully intrigued now, Jiang Cheng nods. The girl unslings the bundle from her back, unties a couple of straps, and unrolls it on the floor in a smooth motion.
Jiang Cheng is on his feet before he even consciously realizes it’s happened, and the reaction murmurs out through the hall. There, on a blanket that belongs on the back of a horse, are five Wen cultivator swords, offered to him by a girl who looks like the word “bumpkin” was invented specifically for her. What the fuck.
“Where did you get those?” he asks, instead of asking “What the fuck?” out loud, because that would be unbecoming of his status as sect leader.
The girl meets his eyes again, lifts her chin, and says simply, “I killed the men who carried them.”
Or: Fan Dingxiang cultivates the swole path. Jiang Cheng doesn't know how to handle that.

The cultivators in the room break off in mutterings and whispers over the information presented by Xiao Xingchen, several nodding in agreement with the man. But Jin Guangshan didn't speak. His focus was on the white-haired and red-eyed person standing next to Xiao Xingchen.
"Who is this peculiar young master beside you, Daozhang?", Jin Guangshan asked, scratching his chin in curiosity.
"Who? Me?", Wei Wuxian smiled. "Replying to His Excellency, I am the local god of Yiling, titled Gui Wangzi. I helped Daozhang in apprehending Xue Yang and destroyed the Stygian Tiger Seal. My name is..."
Everyone leaned forward to listen. They were excited! It's not everyday that you get to meet a god.
"Wuqian!"
"..."
Or, Wei Wuxian gets turned into a god to protect his remaining loved ones.
