Summary
“I miss you all the time.” He whispers, tiny and a little sad. Eddie sucks in a breath, tugging his son in closer to him.
“I…I’m so sorry I’m not around enough, buddy. But you know that I love you, right? And I’m trying to find a job that’ll let me see you more, okay? I promise.” His voice is thick with emotion, and he’s not sure if Christopher catches it. He nods seriously, putting a hand on Eddie’s knee.
“I know, daddy. I love you too!” He smiles. “You should get a cool job.”
“A cool job, huh?” He pulls Christopher on his lap, wrapping his arms around his stomach. He rests his chin on his son’s head, watching a car roll by. “What’s a cool job?”
“Astronaut.” Is Christopher’s immediate reply. Eddie chuckles.
“Okay. I don’t know about that one. Anything else?”
---
Moving to LA isn't really part of Eddie's plan, until his wife dies. Buck loses his leg and his hopes for the future with it. Somehow, they fall together anyway.

Summary
“You okay?” Hen asks, careful. She takes a few steps toward him, gaze searching.
“Yeah, I –” he gets cut off, again, by yet another cough. His next inhale sounds a bit like a wheeze. “Fucking hell.” He gasps.
“What’s that on your neck?” She frowns, brows furrowed. She turns his head to the side as he hunches down a little for her. For a second, he panics, because he’s pretty sure he and Eddie agreed not to leave any hickeys above the collar for now, but then - “you’re breaking out into hives, Buck.”
---
Usually, when Buck gives someone a blowjob, it doesn't come with so many consequences.

Summary
Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”

Or: Adriana arrives in LA. Maddie has been here the whole time.

Summary
It’s not Buck’s fault that he hasn’t stopped running since the day he ran from Hershey and never went back.
It’s not Buck’s fault that the only way Eddie knows how to handle the overwhelming-ness of his stupidly loving heart is to treat Buck like he treats Christopher - as someone to provide for, to look after, to dote on.
It’s not Buck’s fault that the lightning hit him, and it’s not his fault that he died for three minutes and seventeen seconds, and it’s not his fault that when he first wakes up, he looks at Eddie like Eddie is a ghost and Buck will never be able to touch him again.
Which he doesn’t, anyway. Touch him, that is. Not like he used to.
OR
Buck is doing just fine after getting hit by lightning until he's not. Eddie's there to help pick up all of the pieces, except they have sharp edges and all they do is hurt.

Summary
"Yeah, there was this call with those two brothers…", Chim starts while Buck and Ravi start clearing away the boxes full of conserved food, water and a lot of other stuff that Buck doesn't even want to think about.
He takes a step through the hallway where he just cleared away one of the boxes, making space for a much shorter way to get their patient out of here, when he feels the floor give in a little beneath his foot.
And hears the click. He looks down at the floor and the kind of obvious part of it that looks different.
"Oh. That's not good…"
-
Or, Buck is on shift when he steps on a bomb. Eddie, for once isn't- but that doesn't mean he'll let Buck be alone through all of this.

Summary
Christopher peered at him, his eyes bigger through his lenses. “Why?”
Buck nearly choked. “Why? Why… what? I mean, I’m bisexual, if that’s what you’re—”
“Oh, no.” Christopher shook his head, “I just meant, if you’re dating men, why aren’t you dating Dad?” Which simply did not help Buck’s choking problem.
Buck really, truly had never pictured Eddie’s son asking him these questions, specifically why he wasn’t dating Eddie.
“Uh— your Dad isn’t— we’re not—”
“Oh.” A pause.
“I don’t want you to date Dad.”
OR -
A 7x10 rewrite wherein which Christopher does NOT leave and Buck offers his apartment to Bobby and Athena.
