Summary
Life on Erid is good—messy and healing, but good.
Strange things are happening—out of the corner of Grace’s eye and when Simon thinks he’s seeing things as punishment for his crimes. Something coming over the horizon and slipping into the cracks of their perfect life, reminding them that Simon is not meant to be there, that there are consequences for cowardice, something driving to tear them and a lifetime of paradise apart. After saving two worlds and fleeing a hellish ocean, what can you do to escape the jaws of the cosmic universe?

Summary
It's the easiest thing Grace has done all month. He signs his name on the underlined space, returns the clipboard to the man, and waits as the employee leaves to prepare for ‘dumb as a rock’ Pomeranian's departure.
When he gets to the front desk to pay for the adoption fees, the young woman manning the station smiles extra-wide for him. “Thanks for adopting him. He's been on his own here for far too long. I'm glad to see him finally going to his forever home. What will you name him?”
Grace glances down at the dog carrier he holds in his hand. After the Pomeranian's last failed adoption, they decided to keep him unnamed. Calling him by his old name kept sending the poor guy into a spiral, looking for his old human that used to call him by it.
He thinks about it for a moment. Then, a smile comes to him unbidden as an ironic joke comes to mind. “Rocky.”
