Summary
Weeks before turning eighteen, Everly is expecting a picnic and proposal from her boyfriend Landon. A nightmares unfolds when she learns there is no picnic, and she is being sold at an auction to the highest bidder. When she is won by a soldier from Dauntless, she has no clue who Eric Coulter is, or why he'd be at such an event. Her life is turned upside as she must navigate the reality of living in Dauntless, the fear of becoming Eric's wife, while trying to figure out what his motives are to stay alive.
