Summary
Shane Hollander is the number two overall NHL draft pick and a newly minted Montreal Voyageur. He’s also laser focused on his goals: being the best by beating the best. For him, this means a continued rivalry with number one draft pick—and new Ottawa Centaur—Ilya Rozanov. But when a problem with Rozanov’s immigration paperwork threatens his future in the NHL, what does that mean for Shane’s own career? He can’t risk finding out…so they get married. Just for immigration. A fast, practical, mutually beneficial solution.
No one will ever suspect, let alone find out, that the NHL’s greatest rivals are secretly married. And there’s certainly no risk of feelings getting involved. They have a game plan.

On June 24th, 2022, during game seven of the Stanley Cup finals, Ilya Rozanov takes a skate blade to the thigh and bleeds out on the ice.
The next morning, Shane wakes up in his husband's arms. It's June 24th again, and Ilya is still alive.
Now Shane just needs to figure out how to keep him that way.

Summary
In the early hours of Saturday, the Hockey world was ablaze with the news that Ilya Rozanov was dead. Killed in a tragic car accident leaving behind a slew of devastated fans and a grieving husband still reeling in shock.
The news also came as an incredible shock to Ilya when he awoke that same day, hungover and bleary, but very much alive.

“What’s there to talk about?!” Hollander scoffed, shaking his head. “You’re playing for my fucking team!”
“I know.”
“Why did you have to go and get traded?! You realise we’re going to have to see each other every day from now on, and play together, and-”
“Yes,” Ilya interrupted. He didn’t want to know how long Hollander’s list was. “I know.”
Hollander took a deep breath. “Okay, listen,” he said. “Just so we’re clear - we don’t know each other outside of playing against each other, right?”
“Right.”
“And we can’t- can’t hook up anymore.”

OR: Ilya gets traded to Montreal in October 2014. He's lonely, and angry, and he misses Boston. He doesn't know if it helps that Hollander is there or not.

“So,” Cliff starts. “Ottawa.”
“Ottawa,” Roz repeats, and the way he says it, half-amused, half-quizzical, gives Cliff nothing.
“It’s not Montreal.”
Roz looks offended. “Why would I go to fucking Montreal?”
Cliff shrugs, going for casual. “Montreal Girl? I thought, you know, if you ever go to Canada…”
Roz scoffs. “You and Montreal girl. You say I am obsessed with her, but is you who always talks about her.”
“Yeah, because you’re always texting her!”
“Well, I like to get laid.”
And there’s Cliff’s opening.
Or: Cliff has been suspecting that Roz moved to Ottawa for his Montreal girl for a while now. And tonight, they’re going to go out for drinks and he’s finally going to get some answers. Not even two overeager rookies are going to stop him. Except things don’t quite go as Cliff planned and Jane from Montreal is not what he expected.
