The two were now lying in bed together, ready for a long night’s slumber. Zhongli hugged Childe from behind tightly while Childe hugged his birthday present in his arms. Being in his lover’s strong arms made the young warrior more relaxed than ever, and his eyelids felt heavy. Joy filled his heart as he recalled the events on his birthday. A smile appeared on his face and he squeezed the plushie. The way his arms sank into the soft material effortlessly gave him satisfaction.
Jealousy welled up in the consultant’s heart. He rested his head on Childe’s shoulder as he whispered softly into the latter’s ear, “Why don’t you let go of that whale plush and hug me instead?” His amber eyes glared menacingly at the adorable blue whale, and the blue whale... Well, it’s not like it could react now, could it?
The two black dots which represented eyes on the whale stared back at him emotionlessly.
