Katsuki stiffened. Kirishima and Kaminari froze. Basically, everyone within earshot stopped what they were doing to look at Izuku like he sprouted a second head. What did he just call him? “What the fuck did you just say to me?”
Katsuki whipped his head towards Izuku with his signature death glare as he stood up from where he picked up the fallen supplies.
“U-um I said you dropped some pencils! I think this eraser might be yours to-”
“No. What the fuck did you just call me?”
Izuku starts calling him Bakugou and it pisses the explosive teen off a lot more than he thought it would

“Yeah?” Izuku says. “What do you need help with today?”
“Can I crash at your house later?”
That’s new. “What?”
Bakugou sighs and rolls his eyes, as if it is obvious why he is asking. “I got a new piercing yesterday.” He sticks out his tongue to show Izuku the metal stud now in his mouth. “My mom’s pretty pissed about it. So can I stay with you for a few hours after school? She leaves on a business trip at nine tonight, so I’ll go home then.”
“Uh,” is all Izuku can muster for a few moments, still fixated on the fact that Bakugou has a tongue piercing now. He is absolutely certain that there are cameras somewhere; a reality TV crew is most likely laughing at his completely whipped expression right now. Bakugou stares at him, waiting for a sentence. -

Summary
The words that bloom on Katsuki’s arm are painfully familiar, to the point that he can hear the grating, wobbly voice saying them in his ear. They’re specific in a damning way, but at the same time vague enough that it could be someone else who says them. Someone he still has to meet in a situation that hasn’t yet occurred.
…Okay, so that’s a bunch of bullshit and he’s not pathetic enough to cling to desperate hope like that for too long. But he’s got some time to convince himself it’s possible his soulmate is someone else. Anyone else.
Deku’s birthday is still a few months away, after all.
