Summary

And while dying in obscurity on the battlefield, he held it tightly as death itself wrangled with him for that precious last breath. Death couldn’t have it, it was Dianxia’s. Hua Cheng would never rest in peace unless it was by Dianxia’s hand.
Now, for the first time, he held his breath in fear.

Summary
“San Lang?” Xie Lian asks as he wiggles closer to Hua Cheng in the dark room, under the blanket.
“Mn?” Hua Cheng pulls Xie Lian closer on his waist, enveloping him with his warmth.
“What do you think about what Shi Qingxuan said earlier?” Xie Lian wraps his arm around Hua Cheng in return, hugging his torso and burying his face in Hua Cheng’s neck.
“Which one?” Hua Cheng replies while nuzzling the top of Xie Lian’s head.
“About us being too close like we’re love birds…”

Summary
"I don't want your suggestions, I already have a beloved," Hua Cheng said, his tone sounding more annoyed, and Xie Lian too sighed heavily. This conversation again…
"Ah, so it is true! I thought it was just rumors going around. But do we know her? How could we make sure you're not making this up to get off the hook?" The lady pushed, and Xie Lian couldn't let this keep going any longer. Just as he was about to say something, Hua Cheng spoke up.
"My beloved is-" Hua Cheng cut himself off with a hand up to covering his mouth, holding onto it tightly.
Before, when Hua Cheng had talked about his past and those few other comments he made, he looked surprised that he'd said them at all. Now, he looked terrified.
"Something is definitely wrong" Xie Lian thought.
Or: Hua Cheng accidentally drinks a truth serum and a lot of things he meant to keep hidden come to light.

“You told me 'It’ll help someone I care about.' Who is that?”
Xie Lian widens his eyes slightly, puzzled by the sudden question. “Why does it matter? Whether it’s a stray on the street or my beloved, it didn’t change the outcome. I still ended up here.”
Hua Cheng’s brow furrowed deeply. The brush in his hand trembled, dragging a dark stroke across the page and destroying the half-formed character he’s been working on. “You must’ve cared for them a hell of a lot—to throw everything away without hesitation. To offer yourself to me so easily.”
He locked eyes with Xie Lian. “But they clearly didn’t care half as much, did they? They let you walk straight into a pit of demons. They let you become mine. What kind of person does that to someone they love?”

Everyone in Ghost City is cursed to lose all memories of Xie Lian. To break the curse, Xie Lian needs Hua Cheng to say "I love you" to him. What better way to get Hua Cheng to fall for him than to offer himself up as a bride?

Summary
Hua Cheng is a successful idol, reaching his ten year anniversary. In an interview, the inevitable question of his partner's brought up, and while everyone expects him to repeat the usual script, this time he doesn't.
“I’m married,” he says, a ripple of audible gasps from beyond the cameras. “There’s already someone at home.”
“This–this…”
“I owe everything to them. And so, I want to say it today. Crimson Rain is off the table everyone. It’s time I embrace my beloved back, with all the same love and gratitude.”
Unfortunately, Hua Cheng forgets one detail: perhaps he should have told this to his beloved first.
(Or: Hua Cheng confesses in the most roundabout way possible, Xie Lian's confused and jealous, and in between all of this is Yin Yu's braincell saving the day.)
