He carefully lifted up one of the boxes and gasped when he saw what’s inside. A little black rabbit shivering in the cold, all alone in the darkness. It was bundled up in one corner of the box with a pile of clothes (which were a bit… too familiar for comfort), clearly trying to seek warmth in the cold. He poked the furball with his fingers and checked for a pulse. It was really weak, the guy was barely hanging on by a thread. But still alive.
“Shit, who left a little bunny out in the cold near the dumpster? What is wrong with these people? Poor thing.”

Buddy blinks twice, blue still searching brown.
Chase wets his lips. “Because I—I do. I think you’re my friend.”
Silence stretches between them. Buddy’s gaze never wavers, not even for a second, but something shifts behind it, something decisive. Then, he laughs —a soft, disbelieving sound, more amused than mocking.
“No, Chase,” he answers.

Summary
Ivan has suffered from night terrors for as long as he can remember. Finding out the only cure was to sleep in Till’s bed, they both grew up accustomed to each other’s acts of affection without thinking much of it. At least that’s what Till thought, kissing your best friend goodnight and cuddling together was a normal thing to do, no? As for Ivan, living with the realization that these might be more than simply nightmares was a personal hell in itself.

Boy crazy, to be exact. He knew this, his family knew this, it was a common fact.
But he was crazy for guys like Alastair, shiny superstars with glistening hair and a grin practically made for the cameras.
He wasn’t crazy for guys like Buddy. Half the time his lips were twisted into a scowl (not that Chase spent that much time looking at his lips), and his wardrobe was more gloomy and depressing than Deacon’s love life- which was saying something.
OR: Chase can’t sleep bc he’s too busy yearning so he goes in a book and nothing bad happens and it’s wonderful
