orochimaru is a scientist; he puts a seal on sasuke to tempt him with power, he puts a seal on naruto to curb his access to the kyuubi and... then he places a seal on their civilian teammate. the thirst for knowledge goes hand in hand with cannon fodder and orochimaru needs his hypothesis' answered, no matter that his seal seemed to have sent the girl back in time.
(or: sakura is sent back in time with a target on her back, her teacher is now a freshly traumatised teenager, her teammates are babbling babies, and a very much still konoha-affiliated orochimaru is breathing down her neck with ill-regarded interest.)

sakura is in the land of waves, the ocean seraphic and filled with meaning. her crush is lying in front of her, dead, cold and so, so white. her sensei is bleeding out while fighting zabuza. naruto is fighting against the odds of hundreds of senbons.
(or: sakura watches her teammates get beaten half to death and bleed out next to her. when the bloody event ends, she realises that she's going to die unless she toughens up.)

"You've got something there," Green motions to Black's chest, which has a splat of dark liquid across it.
"It's… oil. From the, you know. The rear axial. Distributor." He waves at a panel on the wall, a panel which Green thought was an extra trash chute, but evidently not.
"Thanks," Green says, and means it. "Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who actually cares about getting us all out of here alive, you know?"

Certain lives and certain deaths, they are significant enough that when souls pass over before their time, they are reborn into new worlds. Sansa remembering is an anomaly, but The North Remembers and Sansa is of the North; She Remembers.
Sansa thinks very little of this new world, or this new village she is meant to call ‘home’, but she does love her new brother, who shines so brightly the gods must surely have breathed star-fire into his bones when they created him. The first time Naruto tells her he will be Hokage, she does not doubt him– he was born to rule, just as she was. But Konoha does not deserve him, and she will not let them take and take until there is nothing left of her bright brother. She is Sansa Stark, she knows how to rebuild a home from ruins, and the ruins of Uzushiogakure call.

i have never felt such rage reading this story and what has happened to sansa, or fuyuko and naruto but my biased dislike towards the sandaime and danzo is. i’m so angry. their actions are infuriating i’m so angry. other than the truly fucking rage fueled binge i’ve gone through this story is magnificent. it’s a treat and a delight and it’s all wrapped up with the poise of sansa. i’ve never read or watched game of thrones but god am i tempted after being introduced to sansa stark and one thing i really do enjoy about this story (apart from the feral, angry and absolutely joyful plot of tearing down konoha) is the world building and goddamn kurama. i love them, they’re amazing i love kurama their rage and their character and their betrayal?? delicious.
EDIT: also THEY/THEM KURAMA IS SO FUCKING GOOD I’LL DIE WITH THIS ITS CANON NOW
