Summary
Luna, a high-elf with magic at her fingertips just as fiery as her hair, has so far lived a sheltered life controlled by her father, who has recently sold away her hand in marriage to a wealthy but horribly abusive man. Just as she is beginning to feel as if her time is running out to ever escape the hellish reality her life has become, a nautiloid flies over Baldur’s Gate.
Unsure if she wants to return home to save her father from a lifetime of debt or use this tadpoled opportunity to run away forever, Luna finds herself falling into yet another predicament along the way: in love with a manipulative vampire.

Astarion turned toward her, his eyes locked on hers.
A thousand thoughts raced through her mind at once, each one more painful and more pitiful than the last. I missed you, rang unbidden through her head, dampening the sparks of any anger she may have felt. If he had opened his arms to her she would have run to him without thinking, even through his unbridled rage I missed you so much.
I love you, The thought rallied against her defenses, begging to break past her lips I wouldn't have done it if I didn't. I'm sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.
But she didn’t. In fact, she didn’t say anything. Her mind went blank besides one command: run. And she did.

Astarion stretched lazily. “Fine. I suppose I’ll grace this little quest with my presence. Wouldn’t want you two getting yourselves killed without me.”
She glanced back at them—grateful, though the words caught somewhere between her heart and her mouth.
“Come on then,” she said instead, already heading down the mountain. “I’m not going to wait for you.”
