Summary
Natori Shuuichi never did well in the summer heat. Sixteen, his hair overgrown and nails perpetually stained dark after neurotically practicing calligraphy and suibokuga. He got into a habit of copying the ofuda he found in the warehouse, using trial and error to figure out what they could do.
At most, it was just a hobby, something to pass the time until he was a grown up.
At most, it was an act of rebellion that acknowledged the rot inside of him.
I can’t try to ignore it anymore, the most I can do is find a way to be free of it all. -

Summary
The thing about Kiyoomi is that he liked to believe that he knew Atsumu more than most.
"Atsumu, I think you might have OCD." Kiyoomi says bluntly one night, a mess of tangled legs and arms.
Atsumu perks up his head and makes a sort of confused expression. "What? Omi are ya crazy? I don't even like doing the laundry."

Summary
Shiro had known that raising two children would be challenging. Them being the sons of Satan didn’t exactly make it easier. He’d expected illness and fighting and learning curbs for them and himself. Injuries from roughhousing, nightmares, tantrums were all things he was prepared to handle.
He had not been expecting a kid that wouldn’t eat. He doesn’t know what to do. Yukio simply doesn’t eat. He doesn’t eat if he’s sad, or angry, or he feels sick (which is very, very often), or something hurts, or he doesn’t want to, or the food isn’t exactly the way he wants it. He’s picky, to put it mildly, and it’s gradually starting to get on Shiro’s nerves. Besides, Yukio’s favorite foods aren’t very nutritious at all. He needs to be eating healthier.

Summary
“So why did you set up this meeting?”
“As a show of good faith,” Seiji pauses and takes a sip of his tea to let the words settle, “I plan to introduce her at the next gathering hosted by the Matoba clan. I figured you would not appreciate feeling ambushed.”
A beat of stillness, then Shuuichi looks away, voice small when he replies, “how awfully considerate of you.”or: a collection of fics set in an au where mitsuru actually exists and is adopted by matoba.

Summary
He clinks the cup on its quivering tray. But he had not set the cup down so brusquely; but no earthquake claims the Matoba clan head where a youkai could not prevail. It’s his hand on the tray’s edge, struck by a tremor.
Seiji steals it away inside in his kimono. It is black. The Matoba’s color. The color of a groom. The color of a lizard skittering across a hand, up the arm, to a face that does not want to see his.
He opens his mouth. “I have to—”
Beget a worthy heir, as many tries as it takes. Teach him—it must be a him—to wield a bow and arrow, to enunciate spells so resoundingly that they reach the gods, to chop up his heart and eat it before their enemies can. Balance that with leading the clan; with having a wife, a stranger in his room bearing more than his name.
He has to let go of everything that would impede the Matoba legacy, transcending one man’s wants. He has to marry her.
More than the sake rises up Seiji’s throat.

Summary
Shuuichi stifles a sigh. The man is too keen for his namelessness to be avoided. “Yes, a bit. But also…” He bows his head. “I apologize. It seems like we got acquainted while drinking last night, but I drank so much that I’ve forgotten your name and everything else that happened.” He bows deeper, uncomfortable in his seat. “I really am sorry! I’m embarrassed. I did tell you I’m a poor drinker… Could you kindly remind me what your name is?” He looks up.
And the man’s brow isn’t creased. His hands are not balled to fists; his teeth are not bared and hissing air through them. There is no indication the man has changed anything about his expression or posture, but there is an undeniable shift, somewhere, quivering a chill up Shuuichi’s spine.
“Shuuichi-san,” the man says. There, a change: his voice is cool, curt. “I do not appreciate your attempt at a joke.”
“I’m not joking. I’m sorry, but I don’t remember you.”
The eyepatch crinkles, and with the motion, the man’s eye searches him again, his mouth open to reply.

Summary
“You’re doing it again,” Bruce says, tone accusatory. “You’re faking.”
“It’s not faking,” Dick snaps, a little more aggressive than he means to be. But he doesn’t like that word, doesn’t like the connotations.
(Especially when he knows Bruce is lying about something, too.)
“Then what is it?”
“It’s called being charming and it’s nice.”
-_-
Dick’s mother raised her son to be a star. Dick’s father raised his son to be an athlete.
Bruce's new ward is charming (manipulative), dedicated (obsessive), and way, way too smart for either of their own good.
