Summary
“Why did you even keep talking to me, Jaehyun? After learning what I did?”
“Sometimes there's just people. And you don’t know why, but they make you feel safe. They make you feel loved. They make you feel valid, and comfortable, and protected, and when you look at them, you realize that you’ve never really known what home is supposed to feel like, but you do now.”
A pregnant silence hung in the air, filling up space until the both of them felt stifled by it, unable to breathe.
“And how do I know you aren’t lying to me? How do I know you weren’t just using me? If you lied about everything you had going on underneath the surface, where do the lies end?”
“You don’t know. It felt real to me though. I’ve just lost track of what is and what isn’t.”

Summary
There’s something about loving someone who won’t ever love you back. And then there’s something about loving someone who does love you back, but you know that you’ll never be able to change your circumstances. That you’ll never be able to change yourself. And if they knew what “yourself” really meant, they would never love you back. They would be afraid of you. They would say that they never wanted to see your face in a 1,000 yard radius of them again.

Summary
The first thing Moon Taeil noticed about Nakamoto Yuta when he was brought in for questioning was his smile. If this were a cartoon, when Yuta smiled, his eyes would go black and leak a viscous dripping goo, his mouth would curl into a grinch-like grin, showing off rows and rows of sharp fangs. But this wasn’t a cartoon. And the reality was so much worse.

Summary
And it wasn’t romantic. It wasn’t a grand gesture. It was a pretty shitty confession actually, and he was drunk as hell. So it was a little incoherent. It wasn’t eloquent. It wasn’t profound, it was just there.
