Summary
This is how it begins: A letter, in a neat, looping hand, addressed to “Master Cormac”, waiting for him with the harbour master upon The Morrigan’s arrival. He runs a finger over the familiar impression of the waxy seal, embossed on the back, and smiles.

Summary
Repatriation is slow, and a year after he’d finally read those words, those wonderful, terrifying words (War over stop. Nazi forces surrendered stop. Await further instructions stop.) he’s still in Paris, watching the remains of the French nation attempt to rebuild their once great city. When he can’t stand it any longer, he flees into the countryside.
He runs into them quite by chance, something stirring in his memory, round sunglasses perched at the tip of a nose, green bowler hats. The marketplace continues to bustle around him as he stops dead in his tracks, something familiar from a lifetime ago settling in the back of his mind, and there's a vague recognition in his eyes from that time on the air ship. The music playing loud, weaving through dim lights and silhouettes and champagne glasses. He'd slipped away, only to find a friend of Nina's outside. Miles. But you can call me sweetheart, if you’re good, he'd said, eyes shining. They'd stood outside and smoked, talked, kisses pressed to his cheeks and the occasional outrageous comment made until his- his friend had carried him away. It had been simply magical.

Summary
He can't exactly turn up at the nearest police station. Nina? She'd be utterly useless, a squawking mess, without the first idea of how to find her way through a first aid kit. It'd be even worse if Adam was with her, as he probably was. Hertford Street would mean drawing attention to himself, Tiger wasn't talking to him anymore, and Aggie was quite out of the question - she likely wasn’t home, even at this hour, and if she was it would take a marching band to raise her. It needs to be somewhere close, somewhere inconspicuous, somewhere with rubbing alcohol and bandages. The name comes to him too easily. It’s a terrible idea, but he has to go somewhere, for God's sake, and it’s the best his battered brain can come up with on short notice.
He misses the turning at least twice before he finally collapses on the right doorstep, trembling fingers jamming at the doorbell. Eventually the door opens a crack, a familiar face appearing around the frame.

Summary
He’s not an expert on parties, certainly not the London sort, having not been invited to many, and having attended even less, but Ginger really doesn’t think it’s that bad. By his standards, a party on an airship constitutes quite the shindig, although he has a sneaking suspicion that everyone tells everyone just how ghastly and dull everything is at these things, just so that the next soirée has to be even more outrageous.
