It takes six thousand years (and a lot of snogging) but Aziraphale eventually gets his act together.

The Antichrist had been born, and he put on lipstick and kitten heels to deal with it, but knew that the clock was ticking, and at times when time was slipping away, it helped to hold onto a bottle of gin.

Summary
For as long as he could remember, Asa Fell had always had dreams.
In his dreams, Asa saw glorious acts of creation and invention. He saw the lengths that people were willing to go for one another, the strength and kindness and hope that dwelt within the human soul. Names, places, dates and faces, they all left Asa’s mind as quickly as they had appeared; he could never hold on to the knowledge, only the feelings. But through it all there was one constant presence, a person, Asa thought, though he could never catch a real glimpse of them.
They were a soul that his recognised again and again, over and over throughout the endless timespan of his dreaming.

Summary
Crowley remembered Aziraphale’s hand crushing his own with desperate ferocity at the final moment, as though love itself might anchor them against the unravelling. He remembered thinking, with a grief so enormous it eclipsed fear entirely, that they had only just found each other properly. Only just allowed themselves to want. And then he had dissolved into nothing at all.
Only to wake up.

Aziraphale and Crowley willingly sacrificed themselves in order for a Godless universe to thrive, to give humanity a chance at life without destiny. So how come they still exist?
