    At least not the Saparata he'd known the last months, the Saparata he'd betrayed. Fluixon had to remember that, had to keep reminding himself of that fact. It shouldn't be too hard, the different eyecolour jarring enough.
    So why couldn't he stop his heart from beating faster whenever the other smiled at him? Why couldn't he stop himself from getting closer? Fluixon knew better than this.

    He raises his axe into the air and Flux reaches a bare hand up and shouts, “Wait!”
