But you go about saying things like—” Rei clears his throat and I don’t expect his voice to rise an octave, but it does, as he says, “—’let’s make a swim club!’ ‘I thought you were beautiful!’—” and he continues on, cool as a cucumber, as if I didn’t just start giggling in my seat. “—without even batting an eyelash.”
