Outside, there is a caterpillar slinking its slow, green way up the drainpipe of the house next door. Buck watches it a moment before turning on the tap to rinse, Eddie overlapping the water like, “I didn’t make any promises. I still have to talk to Chris, and there’s so much shit involved in moving, you know that.”
“Really? It’s been a week, Eddie.”
Or, Buck tells Eddie he's looking for an apartment.

Summary
He’d deleted all of his dating apps when he adopted Camille but this feels different. Maybe if nothing else he can find some other single parents to commiserate about how hard it is. Buck knows he chose this life, but it would be nice to have someone who didn’t remind him of that every time he was sad he couldn’t go out with the team because there wasn’t another person at home to pick up parenting duties for a couple of hours. It might be nice to have friends who get how hard being a single parent is.

“Well, you’re up here with me.” Buck grips the railing.
It’s not that he and Eddie haven’t been talking - they have. They talk all the time. It’s just, ever since he found his own place and they aren’t paired up at the station anymore, they don’t have the time to themselves they’ve had in the past. Eddie is usually huddled up somewhere with Hen, being her partner. And Buck gets it; he does have Ravi now, and it’s not like Ravi isn’t great. They’re friends. They just don’t have that thing that he always had with Eddie.

Yet, Buck thinks. Eddie has nowhere to be yet, because as far as Buck knows, Eddie’s still looking at homes in El Paso. He’s still not sure about it, but if Buck were a betting man, he’d guess that within the next month, Eddie will be on his way back to Texas.
