“You didn’t tell me about that either,” Naruto said, “What was it about?”
“Scheduling my vacation. I’m going to visit Itachi. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen him last,” Sasuke answered.
“When are you going?”
“The sixth through seventeenth,” Sasuke responded.
“You want me to spend my birthday in Colorado?” Naruto asked, hoping they’d do something more exciting since it was a milestone year.
“Yeah, about that. Your department has a huge deadline to meet on the thirteenth,” Sasuke answered, “I asked Hinata and she said your supervisor won’t allow any time off from the fifth to the fourteenth. Sorry.”
“We haven’t missed a birthday together since we were seven,” Naruto said quietly.
“We can do something special when I get back,” Sasuke said, giving him a smile that the blond knew was meant to comfort him, “I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
