Logan’s thoughts were interrupted by Virgil’s hand on his arm, startling Logan out of his trance. Virgil’s voice was soft, though his distress was evident in the distortion of it. “Logan?”
Logan inhaled quickly, straightening himself up. “I’m fine, Virgil, please, go back to your room,” He said quietly, moving his arm away from Virgil. “I don’t cry, you must have been mistaken,” He added quickly, adjusting his glasses.
Virgil sighed, stepping away. “If you ever wanna, you know, tell me the truth, I’m right here,” He spoke quietly, just above a whisper. Logan watched as Virgil turned around, closing his door quickly. He let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding, tears springing to his eyes again.

No, scratch that—it wasn’t knocking; it was more like pounding. For a moment, he just sat there, absorbing the sound and contemplating the absolute deranged behavior of whoever was on the other side of the door.
He thought, briefly, of ignoring it—pretending he wasn’t there. After all, anyone who knocked like that had to be trouble, and trouble was the last thing he wanted. But, as if the brutal assault on his door wasn’t enough, the person outside took it a step further and started yelling.
“Oi! Open the fuck up! I saw you slink in here earlier!”
