Summary
Carlos remembers finding solace in coming home from a long, tormenting day at school to see his mother at the stove, and how helping her knead dough or start up the grill or dice up vegetables allowed him to get out of his own head. Carlos remembers the way the world felt like it was swallowing him whole when TK left that night, unable to get the smell of red snapper out of his nose for what felt like weeks afterward. Carlos compares it to the way it felt to feed him, just now, and how it’s like time stopped and started all over again, because this is what his grandparents did for each other, what his parents still do for each other, and he never thought he’d get it for himself.

Summary
Carlos and TK have been through a lot but they're finally happy and engaged to be married. But soon after, TK appears to acquire a stalker. They face this challenge together.
TK huffed out a breath and swayed from side to side, before something caught his eye. He frowned and squinted. There was someone sitting on the hood of the Camaro which was parked facing away from him. TK couldn’t see his face. He was dressed in a hoodie with the hood pulled up and TK could see the visor a black baseball cap.
The figure turned around and looked right at TK.
