    A clawed hand darted out so suddenly that Seungcheol screamed and jumped back. The creature screeched in return, dipping below the water and leaving only traces of bubbles. He was scared of Seungcheol too. Seungcheol looked out hopefully, regretfully, and let out a breath when those golden eyes reemerged a few meters back.

    “I’m sorry,” Seungcheol gasped, “I wasn’t expecting… You were quick, firstly, then your nails… Mine are short, see?”

    He held his hand out, wondering if this was a death wish. The creature swam closer again though as if he was intrigued too. That clawed hand, wrists decorated by dotted blue scales and fins across his forearms, reached for Seungcheol’s.
