Summary
Day twenty-three, change of tactics.
I feel like you both are being dumb.
Dad unfolds this one and reads it and stops and reads it again like he's hoping the words will rearrange themselves into something less insulting.
"Excuse me?"
"It's my feeling." Chris spears a dumpling with his chopsticks. "You can't argue with my feeling, that's not how therapy works."
"I can ask for clarification on what you mean."
"Clarification about what? It's very clear. You—" he points at Dad, "both—" he swings to point at Buck, "dumb. Three words. Simple sentence structure. I learned about that in English class."
Or,
Chris weaponizes his therapy homework to make his emotionally constipated dad admit he's in love with Buck.Bookmarked by changdeer

Summary
Buck clears his throat. “So.”
Eddie’s stomach flips. “So.”
Buck fidgets with the towel. “Uh. Hen said you were a good teacher.”
Eddie glances at him, eyebrows lifting. “About samba?”
Buck’s cheeks go pink again. “Yeah.”
Eddie tries to keep his tone light. “You want to learn?”
Buck’s laugh is short, nervous. “No.”
Eddie’s mouth twitches. “No?”
Buck huffs, but he doesn’t look away. “I mean—yes. Maybe. I don’t know.”

Summary
“It just—when we were at the club. You made it seem like maybe, there’s a reason you’re not dating… women.”
Eddie freezes. Ravi had said it the other night, but Eddie had not been expecting him to so boldly repeat it after the previous unfavorable reaction.
“And—I—I know that sometimes reasons for not dating women can be… um, you know, hard to process. Alone.”
Oh good lord, he’s really going there.

Summary
Buck feels his heart drop in his chest in time with Eddie’s fall to the bottom of the stairs. He’s too far away to hear anything, but blood roars in his ears in a crush of fear and fury, and he takes off in Eddie’s direction before he knows what he’s doing. It’s kind of always been that way, regardless of the stakes. Whether it was turning in Eddie’s orbit and clocking his pain even when nobody else did, or pulling him to safety as he bled out on the street, Buck has always been hardwired to move toward Eddie.

Summary
"Chim told me to go home," Buck murmurs.
Eddie swallows, gaze dipping down over the sight of him — Buck knows he’s a mess. Knows his hair must be all over the place, and the bags under his eyes definitely haven’t disappeared in the last couple hours. His clothes are wrinkled and he’s wearing two different shoes. Eddie’s gaze comes back up, slow, exacting, and then he asks, "So you came here?"
And Buck hears the question behind the question clearer than the question itself.
This is home?
