Summary
On their first birthday after both turning thirteen, the Switch happens to soulmates. It is five seconds where the soulbond gives the pair the ability to exchange senses.
Park Jimin has been wishing for his Switch since he was eight and is first taught about soulmates. He gets his wish on December 30 of the year 2008. He smells the musk of nature, hears the song of the crickets. The evening breeze is cool as it kisses his skin and the tangy juices of strawberry bursts on his tongue. Around him, there is darkness.
Kim Taehyung wishes he can bypass the phenomenon of Switches and soulmates altogether. But much like his past wishes, it does not come true. On his birthday, he gets his first Switch. On that night, after he felt his senses exchange with his soulmate's, he cries.
Or: Park Jimin has been waiting almost his entire life for Kim Taehyung. And Kim Taehyung dreads the day he meets Park Jimin.

“Okay.” He heard Taehyung take a deep breath as he placed his hands back down by his sides, a slight waver in his voice. Either from excitement, apprehension, or a mixture of both. Definitely both. He felt it, too. “Open your eyes, Jiminie.”
Heartbeat rapping against his ribcage, Jimin did as he was told.
It was even larger than he had imagined - titanic and likely measuring over three meters to the top of its head as it sat on the ground.
Of course it was. It was a dragon.
“Isn’t she beautiful?”
Jimin couldn’t respond. He could only stare with a slack jaw at the creature and Taehyung who stood in front of it, grinning from ear to ear with his arms spread out wide.
(or, where Taehyung raises a dragon for his best friend, and Jimin tells him a secret.)
