Summary
It is the height of summer out and way too hot to do anything not involving a whole bunch of water, and seeing as it was their collective day off, Lucy and Tim have decided to invite Genny and her kids over for a fun day of water gun fights in their backyard.
Tim has his eye set on spraying Lucy when she least expects it, but somehow, she has been able to duck down, sprint away or distract him every single time he even gets close to hitting her.

Summary
Lucy hadn’t been to therapy in what felt like forever. And she really, really didn’t want to be here right now either, but with everything that happened the past few days, she felt like she needed it. Especially since Tim put himself out there over and over again only to be turned down by her.
Dinner. After they had sex. During the wildfire.
No, really, Lucy was handling her feelings for Tim really well.

Summary
The confession hung thickly in the air between them, the rain still coming down onto them rapidly, soaking them both.
“Tim,” Lucy pleaded softly, “please say something.”
She realized how selfish it might be to ask for a reaction when she had deprived him of just that when he told her how he felt, but she couldn’t handle the silence.

Summary
She really, really should go back to her apartment. Rationally, she knows that nothing good ever comes from having dinner with an ex.
But before she can stop herself, she is getting out of her car and walking back to Tim’s front door.
“Lucy,” he asks, leaning against his doorpost with his arms crossed, “did you forget your keys or something?”
“No, um,” she pauses before answering, taking a deep breath, “dinner. Dinner sounds nice, actually.”

Summary
They enter the house in silence, and Tim can see that Lucy is about to pull away from him, shower and just rot in bed for the remainder of the night. But that’s not what she needs right now.
“Luce, come here,” he murmurs, taking her hand into his own to tug her closer. “If you’re not up for this tonight, you tell me, okay?” Tim asks, tilting his head. If the sparkle in her eyes didn’t already make it obvious, the smile on her mouth sure as hell did. She nods in response, and Tim takes it as a sign to continue.
“I want you to undress, slowly, make sure to fold your clothes,” he started, running his knuckle over her cheek affectionately. “Then I want you to get on the bed, ass up, make sure you’re nice and relaxed by the time I get there. I’m going to do the dishes and I’ll join you there. If you so much as think about getting started without me, there will be punishment.”
Oh. So, it’s one of those nights.
