The faint morning light streaming through the blinds bathes the room in a hazy glow, and Remus sighs into it. Sirius’ lips are soft against his own, and he lets him take the lead, content in his passivity. I deserve this, he thinks firmly. I am deserving of love. Sirius runs his other hand through his curls before resting it on the nape of his neck, almost as if to say You do. Remus wraps an arm around his waist, drawing him even closer until they’re chest to chest. They eventually pull out of the kiss, but their faces don’t move an inch.
“Happy birthday, amari,” Sirius murmurs against his lips.
sirius always makes sure remus knows he's loved more than anything. on his birthday, he makes it a point to double down on this.
