“As for your current predicament… there may be something I can do to help.” Cas looks hesitant even as he says it, casting his eyes sidelong at Dean.

Dean turns to him. “What d’you mean?”

Castiel’s lips press into a thin line, all of the jovial glint gone from his eyes. “PTSD and trauma can alter pathways and connections in your brain, in a very physical way. Because these changes are physical… it may be possible to… heal them, in a sense.”

“Heal my brain?” Dean shoots back incredulously.

or the one where they finally talk about what cas said before the empty took him

"We might," Cas starts slowly, pausing like he's choosing his words. "We might have to kiss."

    Dean just stares at him.

    Summary

For two weeks, Dean’s wrists have itched, along with various other parts of his body. Namely, two eerily similar spots behind his ears and just behind his ankles, and a particularly strange spot along his spine. What he finds with Sam and Castiel's assistance, though, defies every belief he ever had about himself, and about Angels—by some miracle, he has Grace, and with Grace comes wings in all forms.

And with wings, comes the realization he wasn't ready to ever admit—that he's in love with Castiel, and has been for longer than he can remember.

    Summary

    “You saved me,” Cas says.

Dean wants to crawl inside that low rumble of a voice and curl up there forever. Delirious, he says, “Yes.”

Then Cas says, “You kissed me.”

    Dean swallows. “And?”

Cas kisses him. Something burns at the hem of Dean’s shirt and his eyelashes flutter darker and it’s much, much later when he realizes he’d felt a spark from the lightbulbs blowing out.

Dean barely talks since Cas died. Even once they save him, it's too damn hard. In which fucked up coping styles leave both Cas and Dean convinced the other doesn't really love them. Cas thinks Dean is offering to sleep with him out of the goodness of his heart, or so Cas won't leave. Dean is trying to be less of a dick and ends up crying all the time. Cas just wants Dean to let him be the big spoon. They get to heal and be in love.

    Summary

“What did Rowena say?” he asks. “You called her, right? This isn’t like one of those attack dog spells of hers, is it?”

That’s the last time Dean can remember seeing Cas actually sweat like this. Usually, he’s immune to such human inconveniences, but as of right now his dark hair is plastered to his forehead, moisture prickling his skin. It’s disconcerting. Wrong.

“No, no not like that,” Cas rasps. He lets his head tip back, compliant as Dean gently thumbs at the skin around his eyes to pull them open farther, to get a better look at them. To confirm they’re not bloodshot and bleeding like they were then. “It’s—there are no other effects...not...nothing’s in my head. It’s just...very painful.”
