Summary
Written for the Steddie Summer Exchange and based on Penny00dreadful's prompt.
Three years ago King Richard Harrington left for the war, leaving his only son, Steve, as the Regent Prince of the kingdom.
Since that day, Steve has done his best to keep his people safe and happy, and when his subjects formally ask him to take the King's title, he can't refuse, so he organizes a funeral for his father and gets ready to be crowned King.
There's only a problem.
King Richard is back. And he's not happy about it.---
The Sacred House’s wooden door closes with a loud grinding sound and for a moment no one moves.
The cleric stares at Steve from the altar, while the nobility shares a worried look: isn't the cleric going to proclaim the new king? After all, King Richard's body was never found, and being crowned after a King that nobody knows if he is really dead or not is certainly a bad omen. Steve himself tried very hard to postpone the coronation, but three years had passed since the last letter was received from the King and even the Prince Regent had no more excuses to leave the kingdom to live with uncertainty.Series

Summary
Eddie loathes the idea of soulmates. The words his soulmate will say the moment they realize they are in love with him sit heavy on his wrist. Heavy like a burden, like a cursed prophet, harbinger of death. Others cry tears of joy when they get their words, Eddie had cried tears of anxiety. The dark letters on his wrist read, “Dustin died.”
On the other side of town and yet worlds apart from Eddie, Steve loathes the words on his wrist just as much. Not because he doesn’t want a soulmate. No, he longs for them every day. And every day is a painful reminder that he hasn’t found them yet when someone randomly calls out his words. The letters on his wrist simply say, “Hey Steve.”

Summary

Thankfully, the servants of the house are a friendly bunch, ensuring your solitude is anything but lonely. However, letters of love started appearing in your window from a secret admirer. You aren't sure who it could be, but you have taken a liking to the attention. But even as your heart leans toward your mysterious poet, your gaze keeps straying to another. A timid chimney sweeper who can scarcely meet your eyes, let alone speak a word, yet something in his awkwardness charms you. The more he recoils, the more you find yourself drawn in, unbeknownst to the secret he holds.

They have a large amount of makeshift weapons littered where anyone can grab them, they’re all covered in scars, and whenever the lights in the hallway flicker they jump about three feet in the air.
