Summary
Whatever the reason that Ororon was allowed in, it very clearly made him happy that he was. His expressions were small, as they always were, but anyone could see the gentle smile that appeared on his features whenever he was in the camp, around the Fatui who were so kind to him. Around the Captain. Especially around the Captain, if he was honest. He was someone who had simple wants, and always pursued them whenever he had the opportunity. He cared deeply about the things that he wanted: for his vegetables to grow strong, for his aphids to be content. For his Granny and Ifa to be happy. They were all simple things.
Recently, however, he’d noticed that he’d wanted to be around the Captain more often than not. He wanted to have his attention on him, as selfish as it was.

Summary
Ororon is a stranger to regret. Or, perhaps it is better to say that regret is a stranger to Ororon.
Pain and loss, he knows like an old friend, being from Natlan. Even with the Ode of Resurrection, it was impossible to move forwards through life without loss, without loving and losing those who fought so valiantly against the Abyss. No one fights alone, truly, but losing those that you fought with was a fact of life. Everyone from Natlan knew that. Everyone. So regret was often seen as pointless, especially where battle was concerned.

Summary
Even old dragons struggle with self-identity. 500 years is, perhaps, too old for an existential crisis, but Neuvillette doesn't do things by halves.
