Simple life, easy and boring, but it's what she truly had preferred. She’d go to great lengths to avoid garnering attention. She even cut her long hair at the start of highschool to her typical bob since childhood just because more people were noticing her. It wasn’t too much of a big deal to her, no matter how much Ivan would try and seriously tell her it was a bit much.
Her perfectly crafted world had its first crack when Ivan came in to temporarily stay in her home, dragging a certain pink haired cheerleader along with him.

Mizi squeezed her, “You know I love you, right?”
“I know,” Sua whispered back, dropping her hands back into her lap. “It’s just…”
Whatever she was going to say, she cut herself off, biting her lip. Just? Mizi wracked her brain, trying to think of what else could be plaguing her girlfriend’s mind. After so many years of being together, she had a small inkling of what it could be.
So Mizi took a chance and said, “You know there’s no one else I’d rather be with, right?”
The pout on her girlfriend’s face became more prominent, confirming her suspicions. Sua scrunched up her face as if to say she didn’t believe her. Mizi knew it wasn’t because of herself. It was self-doubt that wormed itself into the other woman’s brain, singing its malicious tune into her ears.
This sort of thing hadn't happened in years, not since their first year of dating. But Mizi never forgot the best remedy to this particular problem. She reached over to cradle Sua’s head in her hands. Her heart softened when the older woman leaned into the touch.
“It’s okay,” she said softly. “I’ll prove it to you.”
