Summary
Four years after the Reaper War, and the galaxy is slowly, but finally, healing her wounds. Most of the debris is cleared out, and the mass relays are repaired, facilitating travel around the galaxy once more. Garrus Vakarian has become a Spectre, and while he still thinks that Commander Shepard is alive out there, somewhere, it’s getting harder to believe with each passing year.
But the galaxy seems to love to make fun of him in thirds: on his third visit to Earth, he discovers Shepard’s third life. As part of a newly-founded arms manufacturing company, suspected of having ties to a major Earth crime syndicate.
He’s never been good with gray.

Four years after firing off the Crucible, Shepard is right back where she started: one of the gangs of her youth. She’s never liked feeling alone and powerless, and when she woke up after a months-long coma in those exact circumstances, well, she went right back to the one thing that’d keep her safe. Except it’s become the biggest crime syndicate in the United Northern American States after the war. And now she wants out. But when it comes to Shepard, it seems like the universe loves to make things harder than necessary.

Summary
Shepard never really knew how she ended up in N-school in the first place. Well, she has a vague idea it had to do with her ridiculously high combat aptitude scores, but since she was still figuring out how military life (and space life in general) worked, she never bothered to find out who recommended her for ICT.
And N-school is a bitch. Somehow she manages to say and do the wrong thing all the time, and it sometimes feels like her existence alone pisses people off. Every designation is harder than the last, and that's without trying to figure out all the people around her. But it's the lessons from N-school, soon followed by the Skyllian Blitz, that form the foundation of who the infamous Commander Shepard turns out to be.

Summary
... the little we understand implies their bond was not romantic, beyond even the strongest friendship. The legends [Dirthamen and Falon’Din] may have been an allegory for complex elven relationships we lack context to comprehend.
Codex Entry: Twins in ShadowLavellan is surprised to realize that despite her circumstances in the Inquisition, she finds a friend.

He had imagined meeting her a thousand times, almost as many as that first kiss on the battlements.
None of them were true.

Summary
She didn't like talking about it, but Sera knew the Hero of Ferelden. Actually knew her – not that "saw her across a crowded tavern" bullshit people say to feel important, but real, honest-to-Andraste grew up with her.
