Buffy sat on the counter with one leg folded under her, the other dangling loose over the edge, toe brushing the thick air of the giant bathroom. Behind her, the mirror caught their flickering silhouettes in low, golden light, streaked faintly with steam where heat met polished glass.
Her back rested against it, head tilted, golden hair spilling across the reflective surface. One hand cupped her breast in a lazy cradle, the other moved between her thighs, slow, unhurried, exploratory. She barely moved, save for the soft stir of breath and the subtle stir of fingers echoing the rhythm of every thrust she watched.
"Hold still," he murmured into Faith’s hair, voice low and steady. His hand moved across her front, claiming every inch.

The light-hearted banter slipped away, replaced by a charged sense of anticipation. There was a line, an intimacy, they were quickly approaching that they both knew led to danger. They had rules for these conversations, understood but never spoken, and he had just broken one - never reference the past.

There’s a part of her that wants to cry for the girl she was, and the fact that it took so many years and so much pain to get to this moment. But Buffy has shed more than enough tears already over the cruelty of her world; it’s time to appreciate the wonder of the fact she’s getting this moment after all.
