    Gojo Satoru was tired. It felt like a lifetime since his days as a student at Jujutsu High, since the days when he'd felt whole and happy. He loved his students, he truly did, but they were the future, and he believed they would surpass him soon enough, while he, at his very core, was a man stuck in the past. He wished to create a better future, sure, with less death and backward thinking, but the shards of his dream that had survived Suguru leaving had been smashed to dust exactly a year ago.

    So he let it go.

    It begins with Liu Qingge wandering the paths of a hosting sect's gardens, and finding Shen Qingqiu standing uncharacteristically close to one of their hosts. In fact, standing close is something of an inadequate description: Shen Jiu stands rigidly under a tree and their host's hand is stretched out so that his arm blocks Liu Qingge's view of their faces, holding onto a branch of that same tree. His sleeve drapes over Shen Qingqiu's shoulder, his head tilted forward to allow for quieter conversation.

    "All I ask is that you think about it," he tells Shen Qingqiu, so preposterously over-familiar that even Liu Qingge takes note. "Consider your priorities. We'll speak again soon."

    (It begins with attending a preliminary meeting for what could be a very promising inter-sect cooperation, and among their hosts seeing a man that Shen Qingqiu does not recognise, but Shen Jiu does.)

    Liu Qingge, head disciple of Bai Zhan Peak, has only one problem: that goddamn Shen Qingqiu. However, the longer he spends time with him and the closer he looks, the more he finds inaccuracies in his perception of the man.

    Shen Qingqiu, head disciple of Qing Jing Peak, has too many problems to count, chief among them his shizun. When Liu Qingge starts poking around, it's far too hard to hide that.
