The air between you is heavy, thick with unspoken things and the battle drawing closer with each breath. She steps inside, closing the door behind her with the quiet of a condemned soul. Her voice is low, roughened by restraint. “Whatever madness you carry… you cannot ride out for my sake,” her brow creases, pain flashing behind those steely greys, “you are their heir to the throne. I am but the blade sent to guard you.”
