Summary
It all began about ten years ago when a mysterious event occurred at the shrine, an event that Kuroo could hardly find any information on no matter how many documents or websites he scoured. Ever since that incident, anyone who traveled up the mountain ended up injured in some way. No one had been killed, yet the survivors were never able to explain how they ended up like that. Every strange clue Kuroo discovered pulled him deeper into the story, wafting through urban legends and public records to sort out the mystery. With his research leading him to a dead-end, he finally decided to go to the town himself to find out what was happening, and if the stone actually existed.

Summary
It’s said that the gods play games with the lives of mortals and laugh. Daichi isn’t usually one to care about what any gods have to say about his life, or dwell on any of the various misfortunes or other random events that have happened to him. But sometimes, Daichi can’t help but feel as if those gods took one look at him when he was born, and said “screw this one baby in particular.” He especially feels it as he and Kuroo learn to navigate their new bond, all while the Council, an old enemy, and an unknown prophecy loom over them. He’d like to request that the gods kindly fuck off, but unfortunately, that doesn’t look like it’s happening anytime soon.
Highly recommend reading the first part of the series to understand this story. This picks up right after the ending of A Song (Like the Chiming of Iron)
