Chloe knew enough about Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
She was pretty, in an average way. A star student who never seemed to be paying attention. The kind of girl who smiled so wide you wouldn't think she'd know how to frown.
But Chloe knew better. Over the years, she's built a sort of of... understanding of the girl, more out of necessity than anything else. It was shallow, but adequate, and Chloe had never had a reason to examine their relationship any closer.
Leave it to Dupain-Cheng to ruin a perfectly good thing.

Blood began to drip from his mouth, and Tommy allowed his body to flop to the floor.

Wilbur wraps his hands around the mug and inhales the steam like it will smell like anything but boiling water. The warmth is nice—Wilbur’s windy walk from the Nether portal to the cabin reminded him of just how old his bones are—even if the taste will be lackluster as always. It makes Phil feel better to provide comfort. It makes Wilbur feel better to let Phil think he has.
