Summary
“It’s so easy to think that this world is a little less dangerous when you’re one of the dangerous things in it,” Violet says quietly. Her words are cryptic as they hang in the air and she slants her gaze over to the brunette. Her mouth tries to smile, but the curve to her lips dies before it can even fully form and she drops her eyes back down to her bare feet, watching her toes press and curl into the furrows. “When the truth is, it isn’t. It just becomes harder and a hell of a lot more dangerous because the stakes are so much higher.”
Over the years that she’s spent living within in a world hellbent on killing her, Clementine has grown accustomed to feeling scared. Grown to crave that little touch of adrenaline that surges through her body every time that she leaves the school’s grounds or grappled with a walker; it keeps her senses keen and her wits sharp which, in turn, keeps her alive.
So, why is Clementine so surprised to learn that in a world where the dead still roam, there are other dangerous anomalies existing alongside her and the rest of humanity. And why is she surprised to find herself caught up in the middle of yet another struggle for survival.

Of course she has trouble taking care of her little brother, AJ, and paying her pseudo-father's hospital bills, and of course she gets messed up in a fight and is forced to rely on the help of two people she just met to save her life. Because that's just how it be sometimes, isn't it?

~On Hiatus til Further Notice~
You play the cards life deals you. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. For Clementine it seems like she's always holding a losing hand. Kicked to the curb by life and bounced through the foster system, the one time she finally feels like she's holding the winning hand, her temper rips it away from her.
Sent away to help her learn how to manage to underlying root of her temper, she instead finds herself rejecting help, surrounding herself with other damaged youths and falling deeper down the rabbit hole. Difficulties become trouble, and trouble becomes criminal, and it's only so long that she and her new friends can keep running to avoid the repercussions for their actions.
But there is always a way back. It's just that sometimes, in order to find yourself, first you must lose yourself.

Summary
Violet is alone. Tucked away in a tiny little booth nestled in the back of the club. The music swirling around her is so loud that she can feel the bass throbbing over her skin and pulsing in her blood. Even her bones feel like they’re vibrating in time to the heavy beat. She sighs to and sips on her drink, one of those brightly coloured cocktails with some obscure sexual reference for a name. Louis had told her what it was when he had pressed it into her hand, but she hadn’t been listening. She’d simply eyed the drink suspiciously before tasting it and deciding that the sweetness of the fruit juice in it masked the burn of alcohol well enough for her to tolerate.
Taking a longer, deeper swallow of her drink, the blonde shrugged her shoulders. Oh, well. At least her corner booth was quiet(er) and mostly secluded than the rest of the open space. Here she could let her own attention wander, passing over guys dressed in muscle shirts or dress shirts -she had no interest in men anyway- and over to the girls wrapped in curve hugging dresses and skin tight pants, various body types undulating in mesmerizing rhythms.

Clementine blinks slowly, once, twice, three times before squinting against the early morning light. Watching the watery rainbow distortion of sunlight dancing in and out of focus and through broken, rain freckled glass. Ragged fabric hangs from crooked nails, clumsily hammered into the frame, a makeshift curtain that flutters idly in the spring breeze. The brunette yawns and stretches her body out as long as she can, toes curling and heel digging into the lumpy mattress beneath her. Her heart beats steadily, her breath comes slow and steady through uncomfortable pops and cracks as her spine and hips realign.
