A rare Nevermore curse awakens only when Friday the 13th immediately precedes Valentine's Day. The curse binds two people who exchange (or even just touch) an anonymous valentine token on the 13th: they become magically tethered for the entire 14th. They must stay close, or face misfortunes.
The only way to break it? A genuine, mutual confession of feelings under the stroke of midnight on the 14th, or the curse lingers until next the alignment.

They quickly walk back to Jade's locker, throwing in her clothes, before heading to lunch. "You know, some colour actually looks good on you. And you didn't die!"
"You're pushing it, Vega," Jade warns her, rolling her eyes as they walk out to the food truck. "This barely even counts as colour. It's probably the only good thing you have in your wardrobe. And even good is a strong word for this. It's not as terrible as it could be, and honestly, for you, that's really saying something."
"That's just not true," Tori announces, nudging her, seemingly unbothered by Jade's insults, which Jade definitely finds insulting herself. "It's green, Jade. That's a colour."
"Not a good one."
"Whatever," Tori sighs. "It looks good on you, you know."
Jade looks at her for a second, raising her eyebrows. "Flirting with me again, Vega?"
"I just know what looks good," Tori shrugs, a small smile on her face as she stares ahead. "That's all."

Summary
Tori never expected to see Jade out in the wild during the summer, much less when the woman is working, but here she is.
Standing right in front of Jade's booth, grinning at the look of complete and utter disdain that immediately crosses Jade's face. Out of all the places Tori expected Jade to work, an amusement park was not one of them. It wasn't even in her top five places.
And yet here they are, Tori grinning at her, Jade looking like she's on the verge of death itself. Really, Tori thinks, that's basically been their dynamic from day one.
