Etho likes winter the most. The comfort of the cold, and the sharpness of the wind. He likes winter, because the biting cold is a reminder of what it is like to be alive. Yet, its bleak and solitary nature makes him wonder if there’s something missing. As winter melts into the opportunity of spring, flowers and feelings blossom together.

In which Etho and Bdubs’ relationship grows, told through metaphors about the four seasons; a story about the subtle aspects of love and the words that don’t need to be said.

Summary
The trip between seasons isn’t easy- to reach a new world you must reach it by foot. Void travel is not without its dangers, so it is no surprise Xisuma wouldn’t allow most of them to risk the journey without help. That being said, Etho is not most of them. He's got his ways to make sure he won't lose sight of home. That doesn't mean it won't be dangerous, but Etho's sure it will be fine.
Bdubs is just confused. Well fine, concerned too. Brand new season, Etho's nowhere to be seen, and suddenly he starts talking to him in his dreams? He just hopes Etho gets home soon, he's an idiot for traveling alone and making everyone worried. Once he's back, Bdubs can finally get some decent sleep! And well, if Bdubs misses the guy too... no one needs to know.

“Let me over the fence,” Bdubs says, all at once. He turns his head, but not his body, to Etho. Etho looks away, shaking his head.
“I can’t do that.”
“Let me over,” Bdubs says again, and as he sees Etho open his mouth in protest yet again, he lurches forward, stuttering out his words. He nearly knocks the tea out of his own hands. “Just—just for tonight. Just tonight.”Etho knows he has to divide the base between them. It's the only way to settle, now, knowing everything between them. How Bdubs shouldn't be there. Etho builds the fence. Etho divides them. And Etho divides himself in the process.
