Summary
The Bridgertons are all jetting off to the Scottish Highlands for Christmas and Penelope Featherington is coming with them this year. She's a close family friend and gets along famously with each and every member (young and old) with one significant exception-- the third eldest son, Colin Bridgerton. They may have been best friends as children, but now, in their mid and late twenties, they couldn't be further from friends. These days they can't even be in the same room with one another without trading verbal jabs that intensify steadily until someone literally has to pull them apart. After a lot of deliberation, though, Penelope accepts Violet's invitation despite this fact. She figures they'll be staying in a huge house and there will be a crowd of other people to distract herself with. What she can't possibly know, however, is that the storm of the century and a series of unforeseen events are going to make that house and that crowd much, much smaller.

Summary
When Eloise announces she wants to move again, it coincides with Colin's desire to purchase a London flat. It makes sense for them to move in with him financially, but Eloise takes some convincing and as Colin and Penelope work together to persuade her, they fall back into a closer friendship. Penelope's eyes widened and he was sure she was scandalised but bore it rather well — as though she wished to be sophisticated and worldly, an engaged woman now. "No," she agreed, though her words trembled some. "No, not at all."
Which is how Colin comes to be here, now, in Penelope's bedchamber, standing between her legs while she lays back upon her bed, her skirts rucked up to reveal her sweet little treasure and her stocking-clad feet wrapped around his prick.
